Carrots in New Earth: Story cards about departing and arriving

The story box Carrots in new soil was developed by Claire Wiewauters and Kaat Van Acker from Odisee University of Applied Sciences. It consists of thirty story cards, made by illustrator Marie Van Praag and produced in collaboration with Studio Sesam vzw.

The cards tell the story of a tree that leaves the country where it grows up, is on its way and has to take root in new soil.

The box helps to enter into a conversation with children and young people about the experiences before, during and after the flight.

The method was primarily developed for children and young people with a flight experience, but can by extension be used for children and young people after migration in a broad sense and / or during other radical (family) transitions.
