Fog Project: Installation Tool
FOG is a free, open source package for cloning computers and distributing images over a computer network. It collects some open-source tools (behind a PHP-based web interface) that greatly simplify installing and managing the computers in your school network.
You can use FOG for:
- Creating and distributing images for all our computers in the school network (one image for all computers, with drivers provided for all hardware).
- Bringing our computers into the network (domain), where the MAC address of the computer is used to determine the computer name.
- Installing software, activating Windows and Office, adjusting settings ... via snap-ins.
- The central startup (via WOL) and shutdown (via Greenfog) of our computers.
